U- Morok, King chilli, Ghost pepper or known by many other names is an interspecific hybrid chilli pepper cultivated in north east India. It helps in treating heart related diseases, skin related disease, lower blood sugar levels and many other illness. U-morok is eaten fresh, dried, powdered, pickled, brined, etc. Many locals of Manipur enjoyed its taste in morok metpa, singju, eromba and non-veg cuisines. Due to its extreme hotness, it is sometimes used as a spice booster in many dishes.
